Diabetic Eye Exams
Diabetes can affect the health of your eyes, often without obvious symptoms in the early stages. At Central Coast Eyecare, our diabetic eye exams are designed to monitor retinal health, detect early changes and help protect your vision over time.

People living with diabetes are at increased risk of eye complications, including diabetic retinopathy and other retinal changes. Regular eye examinations are an important part of diabetes care, even if your vision seems stable, as early detection allows problems to be monitored and managed sooner.
During your appointment, our optometrists assess your vision and carefully examine the back of the eye for signs of diabetes-related change. We may use retinal imaging or OCT scanning where appropriate to closely evaluate the retina and support ongoing monitoring.
We take a clear, supportive approach, ensuring you understand your results, whether any changes are present and how often your eyes should be reviewed. With your consent, we can also provide a report to your GP to support ongoing co-management. If further care is needed, we will guide you through the next steps.
With practices in Gosford, Erina, Killarney Vale and Budgewoi, Central Coast Eyecare provides trusted diabetic eye care for patients across the Central Coast.
